Superintendent's Message

I am thrilled and excited to begin my tenure as the Superintendent of this outstanding school district.  We have an amazing staff of dedicated professionals who are committed to the success of our students and who continue to provide an educational environment that is engaging, challenging, and supportive.  Throughout our nearly 150-year history, the Cucamonga School District has been known for its academic excellence and high expectations for students.  Our extraordinary staff, supportive parent community and high-achieving students all contribute to our District’s ongoing success.

We’re fortunate to have the support of a School Board that is truly dedicated to our students and staff. The Board’s commitment to small class size, a rigorous and enriching academic environment and a focus on respect and responsibility for all students will allow us to meet the needs and expectations of our community well into the future. I am so proud of our employees, who work together to ensure that every student receives engaging and challenging instruction.  Our students benefit from a strategic focus on the tenants of our Portrait of a Graduate, and will be well-prepared to assume the challenges that the 21st century work force will bring.

The success of our students is built on the strong partnership the Cucamonga School District enjoys between home and school. The ongoing support and partnership provided by you, Cucamonga School District parents, continues to be an essential part of the academic progress your children and their school can and will make.  I encourage you to do four things on a daily basis that will both assist your children and be of support to their Cucamonga School District teachers and staff:

  1. Importance of School-Respect for Teachers
Please ensure that your children know how important their education is now, and for their future. Discuss with them your high level of support and appreciation for their teachers and the work they do each day, as they attempt to provide an exemplary educational program in each classroom.
  2. Homework
Please ensure that your children fully complete their homework every evening and are prepared for school each morning.
  3. Believe in Your Children
Please ensure that your children know in their mind and heart your belief in who they are, what they can do, and what they can be.
  4. Student Daily Attendance
Please ensure that your children come to school ready to learn each day. Studies show that there is a direct correlation between good school attendance and student achievement.  Please continually reinforce the importance of good school attendance and make every effort to send your children to school on a regular basis.

On behalf of the Cucamonga School District Governing Board and myself, I wish for each of our students and staff a highly successful and very productive 2019-20 school year.
